Bach Flowers - An Alternative For Depression

Bach flowers are used to come up with remedies that are said to be a good cure for many emotional disorders such as stress and anxiety caused by a variety of reasons. The flowers are utilized in form of remedies that are actually dilutions of flower and brandy solutions.

Each remedy created from the Bach flower is used together with another remedy, since each particular flower is believed to add a specific quality to the mixture of remedies. The remedies are normally taken orally and they can be used on pets and other animals too.

Most of the remedies are given in dosages that are basically about 6 times 4 drops daily. The only catch is that the intakes of the different remedies are spread over the whole day. A simpler way to do it all is to put the 24 drops in a bottle of water. This covers all the 6 by 4 drops. You can then slowly take the water in the bottle well spread out over the whole day. You can also use a dropper to place the drops on your tongue. The dropper makes it easier to count out the drops for your dosage.

As treatment for addictions, the Bach flower can be used to treat dependencies for alcohol, drugs, anorexia and smoking. In helping to eliminate drug addiction, the Bach remedies will make it easier for a change of habit, eliminating fears, mood swings, restlessness and melancholy and guilt feelings.

Dr Bach himself was of very delicate health. He chose to use his time and energy to help other people find healing through his research and findings of the use of Bach flowers to treat depression, anxiety and other emotional imbalances. At first, the doctor has problems finding support for his theories, but he later found out that there were previous supporters of the "mind over matter" theory. These included those who supported homeopathy; who incidentally had discovered this and other basic principles about 150 years before Bach started off on his own research work. He believed that the same nature that created, or caused, the problem that people face was also the same source of treatment for the malady.

The flowers that Bach discovered totaled about 38 in number. He discovered that their essences could be used to deal with negative emotions in humans. In fact, he found that in some cases, the flower essences worked better than other forms of treatment that he used to treat the same ailments.

The remedies that Dr Bach came up with are mainly prepared by two methods, through the boiling method, and the sun method. No remedy can be prepared using both of the remedies. Each remedy has its own method of preparation, and these methods are detailed in Bach literature.
